Bald Eagles Soaring Overhead or King Eider and Thousands of other Seabirds Await Birding Enthusiasts on Kodiak Island
For birding enthusiasts Kodiak has over 240 species of birds, including a large population of Bald Eagles often seen soaring overhead or perched along the hillsides or on the beach in front of the Lodge. The waters of Uyak Bay are also home to a large variety of Sea Birds, including: harlequin ducks, black-legged kittiwakes, Steller’s and king eider, emperor geese and tundra swans. We also have horned and tufted puffins – a favorite of many of our guests.
