Whether Hunting Sitka Black Tail or Alaska Sea Duck You Will Never Forget This World Class Experience
Big Game
Kodiak Island is home to the largest Sitka Blacktail in the world. While the average Sitka Blacktail on Alaska's mainland weighs between 90–120 pounds, Kodiak's average is closer to 175–190 lbs, with antlers proportionately larger. A number of Boone & Crockett Blacktail have been harvested in the area surrounding Larsen Bay! The most productive and exciting way to hunt the Sitka Blacktail is to “spot and stalk”. Each hunter is allowed 3 Sitka Blacktail per season.
While all of our Sitka Blacktail hunts are unguided, this does not mean a drop camp of any sort. Each morning our boat captain or bush pilot will transport you from the lodge to best deer locations in Kodiak to ensure you have an opportunity at a nice buck.

Waterfowl
Kodiak Island is home to one of the best sea duck hunting spots in the world, with an abundance of the prized Harlequin, Pacific Eider, and Barrows Goldeneye! Other common species include Scoter, Oldsquaw, and Mallards. Sea Duck hunting on Kodiak island is unlike any duck hunting experience in the world. The beauty of the surrounding scenery, coupled with unbelievable duck hunting, is sure to be an experience you will never forget!
Each morning, after a hot breakfast and cup of coffee, our guides will bring you out to the best sea duck spots in Uyak Bay. You will position yourself along the high rocky shelves overlooking various secluded bays in the area. After getting situated along the shelf, our guides will set up a string of decoys. Along with birds landing in the string of decoys, you should also expect to have good pass shooting, as the ducks move across the shorelines. After a morning shoot, our guides will help to retrieve your ducks and either position you for the evening shoot or take you salmon and halibut fishing!
