Proper Hunting Equipment Recommended for hunting Sitka Black Tail Deer and Sea Ducks
• Recommended rifle calibers: .308, 30-06, or .270
• Bow hunting is acceptable as well
• For waterfowl, 20 or 12 gauge is recommended
• Shells can be purchased in the city of Kodiak
Other Equipment:
• Camo or green patterns are recommended clothing – blaze orange is not necessary
• Day pack – (In Alaska you are required by law to haul all meat out)
• Binoculars
• Hunting knife
• Rain gear
