Kodiak Legends Lodge is full-service, and that means just about everything you could ever imagine is provided for you. It is richly appointed with taxidermy and art, and is quite comfortable in traditional and contemporary comforts. There are common areas for dining, reading, and video. A fully stocked refreshment and snack bar is available 24/7. A game room awaits anyone who wants to shoot pool, and even electronic games are there for the younger crowd. There is a library stocked with rainy day reading, and even wireless computer access for those in want of an electronic fix. Hunters will find a shooters’ room for locked armaments, and fishermen will find a common area to shed waders, rain gear, and boots. From a place to do your laundry, or a setting to fillet your fish should you desire to swing the blade, Legends has it all.
In terms of your own room, and since the lodge is designed as fully encompassing, you have two floors of choice. Most guests elect for the first floor where two beds are provided in a single room with an assigned bathroom and shower facilities. These rooms are surely adequate with twin beds, and the bathrooms are sparkling with plenty of hot water and fresh linens. Most package guests choose this, yet if you desire more privacy and spacious rooms, you can elect for a single queen on the second floor for a surcharge. This is your option, and either selection will do you justice.
Regardless of choice, Linda maintains all of these facilities with spotless and immaculate care.
Alaska does have its traditions, and in keeping with them Legends maintains a “boots or shoes off” policy. This simply means shed your outside footwear to keep out the mud and dust; you’ll be amused to see what is offered to slip over your socks. Last I heard the slippers they provide you came all the way from Himalayas.
There is also a fine hot tub right outside the main lodge. This facility is fully enclosed with perfect views and a tremendous way to wind down a perfect day. Last but not least I will offer up what is in store for you every time you return from a day of adventure. The chef will have a variety of hors d’oeuvres waiting for you that runs the gamut from smoked fish to freshly rendered caviar. All in all, the amenities in this place simply do not quit.
