Fishing FAQs Hunting FAQs
This depends on what type of fishing or hunting adventure you would like. Incredible fishing and/or hunting occurs in each month from May – December, but it really depends on what species of fish or animal you are targeting. Please refer to our activity calendar to figure out what time is best for your adventure.

Guests at Kodiak Legends Lodge should schedule flights into Kodiak (ADQ), which has seven daily flights from Anchorage served by Alaska Airlines and ERA Aviation.
After arriving in Kodiak, guests should walk 100 yards (just across the airport parking lot) to ‘Island Air’ to catch either a charter aircraft, or one of several scheduled flights to Larsen Bay. After arriving in Larsen Bay, our staff will pick you up at the runway (or the beach in front of the lodge if arriving by floatplane) and bring you to the lodge. The Larsen Bay airport is a 2-minute drive from the lodge.

Kodiak actually has relatively temperate weather compared to much of Alaska and some States in the lower 48. Since Kodiak is located in southern Alaska and surrounded by water, it gets milder pacific currents that warm the air. This same warm current gives California its warm weather.
• Monster salmon and steelhead runs in a world-renown fishery and incredible halibut fishing all very nearby
• Less people than elsewhere on the mainland
• Unrivalled versatility of activities – Fish for salmon one day, hunt Sitka black tail deer the next, go bear viewing in Katmai the next, go commercial fishing and crabbing the next…(our family has fished, hunted and traveled all over the world and there isn’t a better place for a lover of the outdoors as far as we’re concerned)
• Vibrant, emerald scenery and abundant wildlife
• Unparalleled hospitality
• The spectacular view from the lodge
These are just a handful of the many reasons we hope you will come to our lodge. We will do our absolute best to make sure you have a fun, safe and unforgettable trip.
All fishing and hunting licenses can be purchased in the city of Kodiak, or else they can all be purchased directly from us at Kodiak Legends Lodge. If you would like, you can also buy your license online. Click Here
Yes. We have wireless internet access via satellite. It’s not as fast as the broadband connection that you’re used to, but it’s much faster than dial-up.
After a full day in the Alaskan outdoors, you’ll probably be a bit tired. Most of our guests enjoy the hot tub, which is located just above the beach and has a beautiful, panoramic view of Uyak Bay. In addition, you can watch satellite TV, surf the internet, read by the fireplace, shoot pool or take a walk on the beach.

We are big football fans so we have the DIRECTV Sunday Ticket. Whether it’s the Olympics, Football or Baseball, when you’re relaxing in the evenings, you will be able to watch what you’d like on television.
For better for worse (we believe for better), Larsen Bay is one of the last places you can go where your will not be interrupted by cell phone calls. But the lodge has several telephone lines if you need to call the rest of the world.
